KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- A Northland man accused of shooting a teenager who went to the wrong address is now demanding a jury trial. Andrew Lester is facing first-degree assault and armed criminal action charges for allegedly shooting Ralph Yarl this past April. Off-duty Wyandotte County sheriff’s deputy shot during car break-in On Wednesday, his attorneys filed a demand for a jury trial, as opposed to a bench trial where a judge would determine his fate. Last month, a judge scheduled Lester's trial to begin in one year: Oct. 7, 2024. Yarl has previously testified that he went to pick up his siblings but didn't have his phone — he’d lost it at school. Oregon will provide the first gray wolves this winter for Colorado’s voter-mandated reintroduction of the species, state wildlife officials announced Friday.Up to 10 wolves will be supplied by the Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife over the winter. 20-Year-Old Female Passenger Dies in Three-Car Accident on Thomas RoadPHOENIX, AZ (October 6, 2023) – Tuesday, October 3rd, a 3-vehicle collision took the life of Bibiana Mendoza on 69th Avenue.Around 6:15 p.m., law enforcement officers responded to the scene near Thomas Road. According to initial reports, Mendoza was a passenger in an eastbound vehicle that collided with another car making a turn.
